What does “Taimani” mean?
Taimani” means “once upon a time” in Inuvialuktun, the language of the Inuvialuit people. It’s a phrase spoken by Elders before sharing stories, myths, or legends—reflecting the storytelling spirit that is central to our brand. Empowering you to embody that main character energy.

Taimani Studios Inc. was founded byMarikaSila, an Indigenous actress, advocate, and athlete. The brand is a reflection of her journey through performance, healing, and her commitment to creating sustainable fashion that empowers movement and honors Indigenous teachings.

Our products are made locally in Canada. We source OEKO-TEX certified fabrics that are free from forever chemicals, ensuring each piece is safe and healthy to wear. Our production process prioritizes sustainability and minimizing our environmental footprint while upholding ethical standards.

Absolutely. Our fabrics are sourced from a Canadian distributor who works with international suppliers. We prioritize sustainable, high-performance materials made from recycled fibers and 100% organic cotton. Currently, our performance fabrics are sourced from Taiwan, as we have prioritized OEKO-TEX certification, and we have yet to find North American vendors that meet these standards.
